What are some signs your child might benefit from speech therapy?

Is your child facing challenges with speech, language, or social communication? These challenges can make daily life difficult and impact self-confidence. Our speech therapy services offer tailored solutions that could be immensely beneficial for your child.

Your child may benefit from speech therapy if they have difficulty:

  • Producing specific sounds

  • Being understood by others

  • Understanding spoken language

  • Learning new vocabulary

  • Formulating sentences

  • Answering “wh” questions (e.g. who, what, when, where, why)

  • Following directions

  • Engaging with others

  • Understanding concepts (e.g. on/off, open/close)

  • Communicating with others without frustration

  • Using communication skills / in a variety of settings with a variety of people

If any of these signs resonate with your family's experience, it may be time to consider how our individualized speech therapy can help.

What does a typical speech teletherapy visit look like?

Trick question - there is no “typical” speech therapy visit!

At TeamUp Therapy, we tailor each session to fit your child's unique needs and goals. Using teletherapy, we can connect right from the comfort of your home, providing a convenient and familiar setting for your child. Our skilled therapists engage your child in a variety of interactive activities and exercises, ranging from games and storytelling to targeted practice, all aimed at improving communication skills. While no two sessions are the same, what remains consistent is our commitment to delivering family-centered, individualized care that makes a difference.

What is “family-centered” therapy?

When we say 'family-centered therapy,' we mean that you're not just an observer, but an integral part of your child's progress. We believe therapy is a collaborative journey that requires a strong team; that includes your TeamUp Therapy SLP, your child, and YOU! We're committed to empowering you to take an active role in your child's development. This means equipping you with the practical tools and confidence you need to support your child's progress between sessions. We are expert at what we do, but the magic happens at home.

What can I expect moving forward?

Your journey with TeamUp Therapy will begin with a comprehensive evaluation at a convenient time for you, where our experts use a range of tools to assess your child’s unique speech and language abilities. Within two weeks, you'll receive an in-depth report outlining specific, measurable goals tailored to your child's needs. If the initial evaluation indicates that speech therapy is necessary, then we will have a conversation about scheduling needs. Typically, your child will attend weekly or bi-weekly therapy sessions, although frequency can vary based on the individual treatment plan. We keep the lines of communication open, ensuring everyone involved in your child's care is in sync, from therapists to caregivers. To sum it up - you can expect family-centered, ultra-convenient and individualized care for your child from a team committed to supporting your journey.

Hear from the families we’ve served.

  • "Ashley is the sweetest, most thoughtful, and caring person I know! My son saw her for 3 years and in those three years he flourished so, so much!! He started with her only knowing three words, and now he is speaking in two to three word sentences. She is truly a Godsend!"

    Mom of 6 year-old with Tetrasomy 18p

  • "When Ashley began her speech therapy with my son, he was nonverbal. He cried, screamed, and whined. Within 6 months, his speech exploded. Now, his vocabulary and expressive speech is testing well-advanced for his age."

    Mother of speech therapy client

  • "It takes a special person like Miss Ashley to show my granddaughter that she is unique, and to help her build her confidence so she can learn and grow. We were so blessed to have Miss Ashley as my granddaughter's speech teacher; we just love her. She is one in a million."

    Grandmother of speech therapy client

“Ashley is engaged and caring - she reaches out to families on her own time to check-in, and treats every kid like one of her own. We would not be where we are today without her."
